Special Olympics is a youth-friendly organization that hosts field days, games, and loads of other activities for our special-needs friends of all ages. Most of their events are at the Cabarrus Arena, and there's plenty to do during the summer. Put yourself on their email list and follow our Instagram to stay up-to-date with their yearlong events!
To volunteer without a parent, you must be at least 14, with some form of photo ID for check-in.
You'll start by creating a profile with them on Volunteer Local, with your information and contact info.
You'll start the signup process via this link- they keep it updated, so you can view what upcoming events they're recruiting for. Many of these are posted months in advance, so you can plan ahead.
They'll send confirmations with scheduling, job descriptions, maps, and more so their volunteers are informed!
At this link, there's more information about day-of-event volunteers, (that's you) as well as orientation videos, slideshows, and training handbooks.
